Dr Andrew Jackson
Dr. Andrew Jackson is our Practice Principal. He first joined NSMS in 1984
at the invitation of Dr. Frank Madill, one of the practice's original 'founding fathers'.
He studied at Monash University in Melbourne, and qualified in 1978. After
completing a residency at Melbourne's Alfred Hospital, he came to Tasmania where
he worked at all of Tasmania's main public hospitals, prior to his move to general
practice. While starting out as one in a partnership of six doctors, Dr. Jackson
is now the sole owner of the practice.
Dr. Jackson is a
keen guitarist and harmonica player and can often be found 'busking'
for charity on a street corner near you.

Dr. Meredith Clezy
Dr Meredith Clezy joined the practice as a medical assistant in 1994
after relocating from Queensland. Dr Clezy had an interesting
childhood as she lived in both India and Papua New Guinea; indeed
she graduated from the University of Papua New Guinea in 1976.
Dr Clezy has an interest in pregnancy and women's health, she
completed her DRANZCOG in 1984.
Dr Clezy is an advocate for healthy
lifestyles being the good way to prevent medical problems; she
practices what she preaches by maintaining a healthy diet and regular
exercise program.

Dr. Caroline "Cas" Stewart
Dr Cas Stewart completed her undergraduate studies in 1991 at the
University of Tasmania and joined the practice as a general practice
registrar in 1999. She completed her formal training in 2001 and was
awarded FRACGP status. Dr Stewart has special interests in
cardiovascular medicine and aged care.
During her spare time
Dr Stewart collects antiques and has an active role in the
Evandale choir.

Dr. Francis 'Frank' Madill
Dr. Frank Madill joined the practice as a locum in 1966, a year after
completing his undergraduate studies at Melbourne University. In 1968
Dr. Madill became a partner in the practice and provided full time
service to his patients until 1986 when he was elected as an MHA to
the Tasmanian parliament. During his time in the political arena Dr.
Madill held cabinet positions between 1992 and 1996 and acted as Speaker
of the House of Assembly from 1996 to 1998. Dr. Madill qualified as
FRACGP in 1972 and has special interests in Hypnosis and E.N.T.
(earn, nose and throat).
Dr. Madill has proudly launched his self-published book "Why Politics Doctor? Politics: Warts and All" the third in
the series of the life and times of a country boy who secured a place in one of Australian's leading medical schools,
found his way to rural general practice in northern Tasmania, became a sheep farmer on the side, then entered politics
becoming a Minister of the Crown, and the story goes on. To find

Dr Paul Kerkenezov
Dr Kerkenezov completed his undergraduate training in 1971 in Queensland and
has over 30 years experience in rural General Practice, including 26 years rural
Hospitals General Practice, and 10 years RACS senior instructor in ATLAS. His qualifications include:
MB.BS (Qld) 1971, Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Paediatric Life Support,
RAN Advanced Training Underwater Medicine, Radiography for General Practitioners Tasmania.
He has completed a qualification in Emergency Medical Life Support and
enjoys fine art landscape photography. Dr Kerkenezov and his wife spend a considerable amount
of their time spoiling a good walk on one of the State's many golf courses.

Dr Anoop Raman
Dr Raman graduated medical degree (MBBS) from Karnatak University Dharwad, India in 1996 and completed five years
post-graduate hospital work in India concentrating on Anaesthetics. He started working as a doctor in Australia in 2003
Anoop worked as SRMO in ICU and ED for 3 years at Gosford, Wyong and Westmead Hospitals in NSW. From 2006 to 2010 he worked as a Medical
Registrar at Westmead Hospital in Sydney.
Anoop has joined us as part of his GP1 'basic training' to learn the art and science of general medical practice. This will take up to 2-3 years approximately
and will lead to the sitting of the examination for FRACGP.
Anoop's interests include Indian movies, cooking, friends and cricket. Anoop can speak 2 other languages fluently - Malayalam and Hindi
(India's national language).

Dr. Robin Bailey Smith
Dr Bailey Smith had worked as an urban and rural locum for practices in
0363 area since 2003. Prior to commencing work supporting the broader
general practice community in our area Dr. Bailey Smith had a long
association with the George Town community.
